The Lost World and other undiscovered havens

l E discovery of an unexplored paradise on the island of New Guinea has brought "fresh air" to the front pages of newspapers. It's an expression I heard this morning on the radio. They referred in particular to the country took the issue on its front page, with photos of various animals photographed for the first time. Species believed to have disappeared. Birds that were described by nineteenth century explorers and nobody ever saw again later.
English-language newspapers speak of an Eden, whites Lost World (Mundo Perdido) in a clear allusion to the novel by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. Book which, incidentally, I have at hand as I write.
For me, the news has made me reflect on the enclosed we are in our little world, thinking that everything is open, there is no place for adventure. And that contribute media, paradoxically, at times like today help us to see that yes, there is life out there.
When I was little, there were times after watching an adventure movie I felt a kind of frustrating to think that today there were no pirates or deserted islands to discover, because the man had already reached the moon, and anywhere could go on the road ... It may seem silly, but every day we are convinced that the media, which ultimately are our own reflection. Let me explain. Or try. Can be summarized in 80 pages, including advertising, everything that happens in one day in Cordoba, Andalusia, Spain, Europe and the World? What percentage of what happens one day on Earth may reflect a newspaper? 1% and would be much.
However, it seems that what comes out only happens on TV or what have newspapers. And also, we insist on going round and round the same issues.
Of course that contributes to that sense of security that everything is controlled, which makes us feel good. Yet all too often makes us forget that there's a world to be explored further. I do not mean to remote Pacific islands.
After learning of the paradise found in Papua have come to me wanting to reread The Lost World, but also visit the Botanical Gardens next door, in Córdoba, or the zoo - what a shame to miss a few months to become open - or Medina Azahara, or the Mosque. And write about it, what I myself have discovered. What all is said and written about these sites? We'll see.
may seem silly, but we've got tired of talking about the wonderful things that exist in Cordoba and how few times we enjoyed.
lost havens are necessary to remind us that the Earth still contains treasures worth preserving, to reinforce ideas as it is necessary to save the whales - seriously - but also are good for us to see that there are others around our havens where we can be true adventure, discovering and learning, and claiming its value.
Well, I do not know if I am busy a bit with this discussion. Finally, a few links related to news that heads this post.

The last paradise is the article published in Diario Córdoba

The treasure of the mountains of Papua is the article published in El Pais
